Don’t panic, get back to breathing regularly and take these simple actions to bring your site back to life and understand what to do when your WordPress site is no longer viewable.
What changes have you made recently?
When you see the WordPress white screen and the site is no longer viewable, the first thing you should do is ask yourself: What was the last modification I made? What changes have I made recently?
Perhaps, you have:
I installed a fresh template.
You may have added a plugin, updated a WordPress dashboard setting, or accidently modified some HTML code.
Most of the time, the site is no longer available due to incompatibilities or issues encountered throughout these processes. Consider it and make a list of all recent interventions on the site; this is where you should begin.
Watch alert for new plugins installed.
If you recently installed a new plugin and your site hasn’t been viewable since, it’s either broken or incompatible with your template or the current version of WordPress.
This is why it is very necessary, before downloading it, to understand how many times it has been downloaded, read other users’ evaluations, and comprehend the newest version of WordPress.
In this instance, the only option is to remove the plugin you just installed. You can use FileZilla to connect via FTP and delete the plugin folder located at wp-content/plugin/name-of-the-plugin-folder-to-delete.
Restore a backup copy of your website
If the problem persists, a simple option is to restore a recent backup copy of your website. This will overwrite all of your site’s files and database with the previous version that worked before the WordPress white page occurred.
Please keep in mind that any published information or changes made after the most recent backup will be lost. Therefore, restore the most recent backup.
If you don’t have a backup copy, you’ll have to try manually resolving the issue through your hosting cpanel.
